Partner Portal for Signify Trade Channel Partners
Signify, an international lighting manufacturer that includes Philips and PILA products, collaborates with a broad network of distributors and channel partners. To keep these partners informed about updates such as price changes, new products, and special offers, Signify requested us to redesign their portal, making it the primary hub for communication with their partners.
The Problem
Comprehensive modernization of Signify’s channel partner portal.
Signify faced two primary challenges: the outdated nature of their existing partner portal and its insufficient features for effective communication with channel partners. The original portal lacked modern functionalities, visual appeal, and usability standards, which hindered the company’s ability to quickly update information and share marketing materials.
To address this, Signify required not only a refreshed visual design but, more importantly, a new portal architecture. This new architecture would facilitate easier content management, quicker information updates, and a more intuitive user experience for their partners.
The Solution
After consulting with the client and understanding their needs, we presented an updated concept of the partner portal.
Before starting the project, we conducted a thorough analysis of the client’s requirements and suggested several solutions, including various CMS systems. Ultimately, the client chose the WordPress platform from the options we recommended.
We prepared a preliminary design for the new site, which included a number of new features to meet the client’s needs. In the course of the work on the site, the concept of the affiliate portal expanded, so that it was extended with additional features.
The new portal was to include:
- A repository of files for partners, divided into several categories and sections assigned to the client’s product brands.
- A blog with articles, where product information and special offers were to be published on behalf of Signify’s experts.
- An online trainings section, gathering up-to-date information on upcoming webinars and instructions on how to sign up for them.
- Custom landing pages on topics relevant to Signify or their partners, such as EU directives, special events or promotions.
After the design was approved, we began the development phase. We set up the site using the WordPress CMS and prepared the necessary graphics and copywriting. The site included forms integrated with the Mailchimp platform to facilitate newsletter subscriptions for new users. Following the setup, we proceeded to the testing and debugging stage.
The Outcome
The new portal has significantly improved the accessibility of marketing materials and product information for partners. Enhanced content management and categorization allow partners to quickly and easily find the resources they need to learn about and promote Signify’s products.
New features, such as a blog and a training section, have further engaged partners by providing valuable content and tools to support their sales and marketing efforts.
Since its launch, the portal has attracted over 3,300 users and garnered more than 17,000 views. These are strong results, especially given the relatively specialized audience.
